Transfer Within MPESD

Note: This process does not apply to the Ida Jew Academies. You can enroll in them without completing an Intradistrict Transfer Form.

Students are assigned to schools based on a space available and first-come first-serve basis at the discretion of the principal. If space is not available, the student will be placed at another school within the District. However, a student can attend a different school within MPESD if the parent/guardian completes an Intradistrict Transfer Form and receives approval.

Transfer request forms are available at each school. You can also complete the form digitally.

Transfer Steps

  1. Complete the form above.
    1. Please make sure you write down the school year at the top.
  2. Turn in the form via one of the following methods:
    1. Email it to Felicia Le at fle@mpesd.org.
    2. Drop it off at the District Office (3434 Marten Avenue, San Jose, CA 95148-1300).
    3. Mail it to the District Office, addressed to the Superintendent's Office with "ATTN: Intradistrict Transfer".
  3. You will be informed of the decision within thirty (30) business days.

Conditions

If your form is approved, please keep in mind the following:

  1. Students must follow school attendance and classroom rules, or they will be returned to the school of residence.
  2. The application must be resubmitted every school year.
  3. Transportation will be the responsibility of the parent/guardian, as this is being requested by the parent/guardian.
  4. Transfers are granted on the basis of space availability and may be revoked at any time during the school year.
