Degrees and Certifications:
My name is Mariel Nuñez and I am the Intervention teacher at Mt. Pleasant Elementary. I am a product of the Mt. Pleasant Elementary School district, I attended Robert Sanders when I was a child. It was thanks to my 5th grade teacher that I decided I wanted to be an educator. I graduated from Mt. Pleasant High School and then went to Santa Clara University with a full paid scholarship (Eastside FUture Teachers Project). I received my B.S. in English and Spanish. I also received my credential and Masters degree from SCU. I have taught in the K-2 grade levels as both a classroom teacher and an Intervention Teacher as well as been a school administrator. This is my 18th year in the district and 7th years as an Intervention Teacher. I look forward to working with the MP community to better support our students in the area of reading and writing.
