Mrs. Lizarraga

Hello and Welcome to our 2018-2019 school year!

My name is Mrs. Lizarraga, and I teach First Grade at this gem of a school - full of inspiring teachers, hard-working scholars, and their supportive families!

This is my 15th year teaching at Mount Pleasant. I taught 11 of those years in Kindergarten, and 4 of those years in First Grade (2 years teaching combination classes Kinder/1st & 1st/2nd).

I spent most of my youth and college years empowering children, youth, and young adults in my many leadership, chairing, directing, and coaching roles. I received my Bachelors of Science degree from San Jose State University, and my Teaching Credential from Notre Dame de Namur University in Belmont, California. I am honored to work with the San Jose teachers participating in the Yale National Initiative (YNI), including 3 years representing the Mount Pleasant Elementary School District as a YNI fellow. In moments of "Sharpening the Saw" - I love writing, listening to music, adventuring with friends and family, trying new things, and mostly anything that can be done at the beach!

This is my first year using ClassDojo, and I have greatly appreciated this mode of communication with parents and families of my scholars. Please feel free to join me there, get class info, and contact me through messages.
