Mrs. Okada-Seike

Welcome to TK at Mount Pleasant Elementary STEAM Academy!  My name is Mrs. Okada-Seike and I have been a part of the Mount Pleasant Elementary School District family since 2015. 

I was born and raised in Los Angeles, California.  I relocated to Silicon Valley to begin the next chapter of my life. I love going to the beach, visiting Disneyland, going shopping, watching movies, visiting my friends and family in southern California, taking tea, watching Broadway musicals, visiting museums, traveling, and spending time with my husband and pets.

I began my teaching career as an early childhood teacher, focusing on the social-emotional and cognitive growth of children ages 3-6. This led to participating in a research team exploring cognitive and perceptual development in early childhood learners and presenting my findings at symposiums hosted by the University of California, Los Angeles, California State University, Los Angeles, and Santa Clara University. My inquiries into cognitive development would eventually lead me on a path toward becoming a California public school educator. I have taught Pre-Kindergarten through 3rd grade for over two decades. Teaching Transitional Kindergarten and Kindergarten has been my lifelong passion! Although my focus was on Child Development, my love for the arts led to a minor in art education and studio arts.  I love to watch my students express and explore the world through an artistic lens. I am so thrilled to support our youngest student leaders and their families in a successful year of explorative learning and growth. It gives me great pleasure to welcome our newest Eaglets! It's time to spread their wings and soar.  The sky is the limit!
