Ms. Louise Krasnow

Welcome to my classroom webpage.  I have been educating 5th grade students for 20 years now and love every minute of it. I do my best to bring the curriculum alive with artifacts, technology, assemblies, field trips and even dressing as historical figures.  My students and parents seem to like my down-to-eart and comic style.  To me learning should be fun, exciting and invigorating, and I work daily to bring this love of learning to my students.  As an undergraduate, I studied educational psychology and incorporate these mindful habits daily.  Small things like believing in oneself, having positive self talk, and celebrating mistakes have always been a part of my classroom management, long before it became popular to do so.   My professional experiences include a Consortium on Social Studies at Santa Clara University, a week long teacher's workshop at Colonial Williamsburg in Virginia, and a teacher's institute at Yale University.  I also attended the Foothill College Technology institute, learning how to integrate technology into our curriculum, and I am an active member of our districts technology consortium.  Personally, I love nature, animals, theatre, art, museums, decorating, gardening, hiking, and reading.
