As much as I love summer, I look forward to the 2019/2020 school year. I have been a teacher at Valle Vista since January 1998. The best thing about first graders is their enthusiasm for learning. Each is like a little flower, not yet bloomed. I am fortunate enough to witness them upon entrance to first grade as a little blossom, only to bloom into their own unique flower at the close of their first grade year.

Each year brings new adventures, experiences and successes that are cultivated through working together as a team; parent, child, teacher, and everything in between. I encourage you to take an active role in your child's first grade experience; participate, encourage, watch, learn, encourage some more, and question. Should you need suggestions on how to support your child at home academically or behaviorally, I am here. Should you have any concerns, I am here. Should you have a suggestion, I will listen. You and I both have something in common; we want your child to not only be successful but to enjoy the journey.
