MPESD 3 to 3 Initiative

MPESD 3 to 3 Initiative

Our goal is by the end of third grade, all students will read at grade level. Resources will align with an "all in" approach to addressing early literacy. Students who enter the fourth grade at or above level are best prepared for future success. All students reading competently by fourth grade will change the trajectory of many students.

Early Literacy

MPESD will address Early Literacy by addressing these 4 areas:

Key Strategies

Instructional Practices

Professional Learning

Early Identification Tools

 Key Strategies

Instructional Practices

         Focus on Instruction- Acceleration
                              MTSS (Multi-Tiered Systems of Support)
MTSS is an instructional framework that includes universal screening of all students
multiple tiers of instruction and support services, and an integrated data collection

and assessment system to inform decisions at each tier of instruction. The framework

can be used for literacy, math, or positive behavior supports.

Robust Tier 1 Reading Program for all students (Teachers plan, design, deliver, and assess student learning).
