Get Involved

There are many ways for you to get involved as a member of our community. Every school has its own set of organizations, and the district has one too. You can read about the types of committees and opportunities to learn more about what you might be interested in doing.
Volunteering
Whether you are family or simply someone who wants to help out, you're welcome to join the volunteering team during any part of the year. Volunteers can get involved in field trips and more, depending on their availability.
DELAC - District English Language Advisory Committee
Not everyone has the same needs. In the students' journeys to become multilingual, it is critical that MPESD supports them by diversifying and exploring teaching methods, listening to our community and brainstorming together on what we can do next. DELAC is a group dedicated to helping the next generation strengthen its voice.
LCAP Committee - Local Control Accountability Plan
The LCAP Committee focuses on student outcomes and how to help them improve. By joining this group, you'll learn from the Director of Curriculum, Instruction & Assessments about what we do and how we use our budget to uplift our schools as a whole.
CBOC - Citizen's Bond Oversight Committee
Bonds are dedicated to our construction projects, which range from rebuilding to renovation. Community members have the opportunity to have regular, in-person updates from the Director of Maintenance & Operations and Chief Business Officer on these expenditures, and get a closer look at how the projects are progressing.
Parcel Tax Committee
In elections, measures appear for specific purposes that can be related to personnel acquisition, program funding, and construction. To ensure transparency, regular meetings are held by the Superintendent so that the community knows how these parcel taxes are being utilized.
