Measure Overview

A Mount Pleasant School District Parcel Tax Renewal, Measure K ballot question was on the June 3, 2014 election ballot for voters in the Mount Pleasant School District in Santa Clara County, California, where it was approved. Measure K authorized the district to renew for seven years a parcel tax of $95 per parcel per year. This tax, which was set to expire in 2015, was originally approved by voters in 2010 as Measure H.
 
A Mount Pleasant Elementary School District parcel tax, Measure H ballot proposition was on the June 8, 2010 ballot for voters in the Mount Pleasant Elementary School District in Santa Clara County, where it was approved. Measure H levied an annual parcel tax of $95 for five years.

 Parcel Tax Citizens’ Oversight Committee

The Board of Trustees of Mt. Pleasant Elementary School District is seeking qualified, interested individuals to serve on a committee of community leaders which will serve as the Independent Citizens’ Oversight Committee (“COC”) for the District’s Measure K Parcel Tax and Measure H (Approved by the voters on June 7, 2022). The advisory committee will meet about two to three times per year for about an hour and present to the Board of Trustees toward the end of the Academic School Year.

Applicants must currently participate in one of the following categories:

  • Community Business Member

  • Parent or guardian of a child enrolled in the District

  • Parent or guardian of a child enrolled in the District and active in a parent-teacher organization.

  • At Large Community Member 

  • Financial Management or School District Experience

  • Senior Citizen’s Organization
