OUR VISION
The vision of Mount Pleasant Elementary School District, a small multicultural enriched community, is to provide an excellent personalized education producing socially responsible students prepared for their futures as life long learners, where schools serve the community through active partnerships, linking advanced technology with progressive teaching and learning techniques. Our employees mirror the image of our vision.
OUR DIVERSE COMMUNITY IS OUR STRENGTH
Mount Pleasant Elementary School District – a K-8 district- with four elementary schools and one middle school, serves about 3,000 students. A multitude of cultures, ethnic groups and languages makes the District a rich atmosphere in which to work. All schools in the district work closely on total quality learning strategies to prepare all children for the challenges of the 21st century. Our programs are student centered and our goal is to provide an environment in which students are achieving at the highest academic level.
INSTRUCTIONAL PROGRAM
The instructional program is based on an innovative and comprehensive K-8 curriculum supported by ongoing staff development, appropriate instructional materials and support staff. Professional growth opportunities are provided through district in-services. The District has three staff development days built into the school calendar for the purpose of teacher training.
